The Latinx community is the largest racial or ethnic group in California. In fact, California has the largest Latinx population in the country. Latinxs represent the largest share of the immigrant population in the state. The majority of Latinxs in California live in the Southern California and San Joaquin Valley regions. While Mexicans are the largest Latinx subgroup in the state, California is also home to many other Latinx subgroups, including sizable Salvadoran and Guatemalan populations.
